ITSM Extreme Makeover is an initiative led jointly by Pink Elephant and Hornbill and provides a rare look inside the world of ITSM transformation. Along with participating sponsors GamingWorks, Loyalist, HDI, and TSO, the ITSM Extreme Makeover team is hard at work to bring extreme change to the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.

10 Weeks Into The Extreme Makeover…
September 2: The IT team at University of Texas Health Sciences Center and the various Extreme Makeover partners have been hard at work these past 10 weeks. To sum it all up there have been two rounds of assessments (HDI and Pink Elephant); work has begun developing 3 processes, the Support Works (Hornbill) tool has been installed; Apollo 13 simulations (GamingWorks) have been conducted. Not to say there haven’t been challenges along the way but much has been achieved in a short period of time and the heavy lifting continues. And The Winner is…
May 24: The winner of the ITSM Extreme Makeover 2011 is the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. George Spalding made the announcement in person in San Antonio today at 1:30pm CDT to a very surprised and pleased Jerry York (VP & CIO) and his entire leadership team. Congratulations to Jerry and the entire UTHSCSA team…now the real work begins.

Four Finalists Chosen for ITSM Extreme Makeover 2011
May 12: After receiving a significant number of submissions the Executive Sponsor Panel has narrowed it down to four possible candidates for the 2011 ITSM Extreme Makeover.
Congratulations to our finalists: Hazelden Foundation of Minnesota, Salt Lake County of Utah, University of Nevada Las Vegas, and the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.
Next steps are upcoming live interviews with the finalists. Stay tuned for further updates.
Welcome To ITSM Extreme Makeover 2011
March: Why “extreme makeover”? Whether fashion, body or property, an extreme makeover sets out to transform someone, or something, from mediocre to stunning, usually in a relatively short period of time.
Each participating IT service provider will donate products and services with a total combined value expected to exceed at least US $250K. The objective of the extreme makeover is to show how an IT Service Management (ITSM) organization can be transformed using best practices and good program management. Over a 12-month period it is expected that measurable value can be achieved.
The chosen organization will be announced after the application submission deadline on April 8, 2011. The organization’s journey will be chronicled and shared across the globe on video, blogs and social networking sites throughout the following 12 months. The outcome will be presented for the world to see at Pink Elephant’s 16th Annual International IT Service Management Conference & Exhibition, February 19-22, 2012 in Las Vegas.
